He is an outstanding example of effective public citizenship.”

Members are from all sectors of business – everything from sandwich shops to manufacturers to home builders, ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to “mom and pop” businesses. Ninety percent of the Chamber’s members are classified as small businesses, with 60 percent having ten employees or less, and 48 percent having five employees or less. Approximately 48 percent of the member businesses are based in Saint Paul. (Read full endorsement announcement)

** AFSCME- Council 5  Local#1842 (April 4, 2007)

Dear Neighbor,

I work for the City of Saint Paul and I live on the Eastside, near Lake Phalen.  I will be voting for Councilmember Dan Bostrom. Let me tell you why . . .
Dan is a friend of working families.  Dan supports the right of employees to have a voice in the workplace, safe working conditions and living wage jobs. He supports investments in our parks and recreation centers. I work in the public libraries, so I know Dan is a friend of our libraries. He demonstrated his commitment by supporting the creation of the Public Library Board in 2003.  He values thoughtful city planning. Bostrom is a consistent advocate for rebuilding our streets, sewers and city infrastructure.
Dan is a strong voice for enforcement of our city's problem property laws. In every case, Dan works closely with members of my union and others to make Saint Paul a better place to live and work.

- Robin Madsen, President of AFSCME Local #1842 . . . and fellow Eastsider

January 5, 2007

(SPPD Federation Website) At its January meeting, the St. Paul Police Federation issued its endorsement of incumbent St. Paul City councilmembers Deborah Montgomery and Dan Bostrom. Both are former St. Paul Police officers and members of the Federation.

St. Paul Police Federation President Dave Titus stated that it was the knowledge the two incumbents possessed of the dangers of public safety work that won the Federation’s endorsement for the two veteran officeholders. “They remember where they came from and continue to work very hard to keep both our city and its police officers safe,” said Titus.
